I would like to share with you something that happened to me while we were away on a family holiday back in 2013.
We were having a wonderful time relaxing on the beach down in Puglia, Italy — I was enjoying a fantastic book by the well-known author Deepak Chopra M.D. named ‘Quantum Healing: Exploring the Frontiers of Mind/Body Medicine‘. This book is all about the topic of quantum healing, and it depicts how even people in the gravest condition can spontaneously heal overnight and no science in the world today can explain why. This book went on to illustrate that there needs to be a significant increase in medical and scientific research in this area as the current health care system is failing. So while lying on the beach, I realised that this medical-based scientific book has just scratched the surface of a topic that B.J. Palmer, the founder of chiropractic study, has been investigating, researching and teaching for over 115 years.
So, you may be thinking, why am I telling you this story? Well, because I had the realisation that while I understand this information quite well, many of our clients may be unaware of this perspective. And I consider it my mission to spread the awareness of different ways of thinking whenever I can. As this not only interests me, but I believe it is vital to share information and stories within our community.
However, before we all get too excited, I suppose I should explain what this chiropractic principle is. It is straightforward but compelling. It states that the magic of healing comes from ‘above-down and inside out’ and not from the outside in. So in simple terms, you need nothing from the outside environment of the body, but instead, we only need the capacity to listen, act and believe on our own internal instincts or as we say in chiropractic our innate intelligence.
This is a broad topic, but it is one that is full of fun and excitement. This month I am going to leave it at that for now, but this will be an ongoing topic over the following months. If you enjoyed this article, please let me know at your next appointment. Until next time!
